Well I am in the midst of my beef trip and it is amazing. On friday we started with a tour in Oshawa of a farm that I had already toured with 4-H so it was a nice warm up. Then we stopped to have lunch and continued up north to Port Perry. Up there we saw a farm operation with 600 ewes and 70 head of cattle. It was crazy seeing how they pasteurize both. Oh and to have sheep, they get guide dogs.

I don't know if you can see the Great Pyrenees in their but he lives with the lambs and they guard 24/7. I know how I am going to raise my lambs :).

Then we went to a hotel in New Liskeard and we settled in for the night. Today we had 5 barn tours, most were large commercial where they had 300 head all on pasteur. Up here most farmers have 1000+ acres of land, it is insane!

I have learned so much about different kinds of beef farms and it is so different from the county. I don't think I will be moving up here anytime soon (its freezing!!) but I will definitely come up north for fun.

Thats it so far, one more tour tomorrow and then we have the long trip home (by the way, our bus is a traditional school bus... super comfy).

Love you lots,
K
